This picture is of the first Giraffe Heroes awards ceremony in Kyrgyzstan, with a focus on heroes battling corruption and assaults on civil liberties. The leaders responsible for the problems don’t think much of Giraffe Heroes Kyrgyzstan and in fact have at least temporarily shut it down. I say “temporary” because Giraffe Heroes have a long history of battling back from adversity to reach their goals.
